I've just read an article on CNN mentioning that the winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee got first by correctly spelling the word "knaidel".. The article also mentions that it is "a German-derived Yiddish word for a type of dumpling." So I guess it's the same word as kneidel here. But what about the spelling? Is knaidel also acceptable? (I'm copying the article's URL here: http://edition.cnn.com/2013/05/30/us/spelling-bee/index.html?sr=fb053113spellingbee1030a)
