Supreme Court



  1. the final court of appeal in the United Kingdom for civil cases, which also hears appeals in criminal cases from England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Established in 2009 to assume the judicial functions of the House of Lords
  2. (in the US) the highest Federal court, possessing final appellate jurisdiction and exercising supervisory jurisdiction over the lower courts
  3. (in many states) the highest state court
