Coined by my wife some years ago when we were on a ferry between Portsmouth and Bilboa in Spain. I agree with the offered definition but not with my wifes attribution to me, particularly as we were in a lift with other people at the time, aimed at me for making a silly remark again. It has been in use by us for some years now. We do not regard it as inappropiate. We are west country folk and wonder if 'ciderlad' is too.
