Some experts believe that hydroplaning accounts for the majority of single-car accidents in wet weather.
Hydroplaning can happen when a cushion of water is built up in front of fast-moving tires.
This water-absorbing asphalt greatly reduces both the amount of spray generated by
traffic and the risk of hydroplaning by high-speed vehicles.
