( Automotive engineering : Vehicle components , Engine, transmission, and exhaust )
The idle speed is high when the truck is cold.
When you stop at the traffic lights, or when you disengage the clutch to change the
gears, the engine works in idle speed.
A cold motor requires a different air-fuel mixture to run properly, and because of
this, the idle speed must be higher during cold engine operation.
