Synonyms of 'of'
Of is sometimes used instead of have in phrases such as should have, could have, and might have. This is because, when people are speaking, they often drop the h at the beginning of have, making the word's pronunciation very similar to that of of. Using of in this way is, however, regarded as nonstandard, and in writing it should definitely be avoided.
