Own or similar occupation insurance pays out if the claimant is unable to perform their current profession
or trade or a reasonable alternative based on their experience and qualifications.
If you are unable to engage in your own or similar occupation, you cannot perform the main functions of the job you held when you became disabled
or of any similar job appropriate to your education, training, or experience.
A policyholder's own or similar occupation is the job that they were doing before they became disabled or a job with similar
duties and training.
