( Electrical engineering : Electrical power , Motor or generator )
Singly fed electric machines have an effective constant torque speed range up to synchronous speed for a given excitation frequency.
At no load, losses in the motor cause the rotor speed to be slightly less than the
synchronous speed of the stator field.
Synchronous speed is mechanical speed related to the electrical frequency by a number of pairs of poles.
