When adding -ing to the verb route to form the present participle, it is more conventional, and clearer, to keep the final e from the end of the verb stem: routeing. The spelling routing in this sense is also possible, but keeping the e distinguishes it from routing, which is the participle formed from the verb rout meaning `to defeat'.
